A ₹1,748 plan sounds far more expensive than a ₹177 plan. But the first lasts 336 days and the second 28. The fair way to compare is cost per day.
The formula
Cost per day = plan price ÷ validity in days.
Examples from voice-only plans
| Plan | Price ÷ days = cost per day |
|---|---|
| Jio ₹147, 22 days | ₹6.68 |
| Jio ₹177, 28 days | ₹6.32 |
| Airtel ₹185, 28 days | ₹6.61 |
| Jio ₹448, 84 days | ₹5.33 |
| Jio ₹1,748, 336 days | ₹5.20 |
Examples from data plans
| Jio ₹299, 28 days | ₹10.68 |
|---|---|
| Jio ₹999, 98 days | ₹10.19 |
| Airtel ₹899, 84 days | ₹10.70 |
Two cautions
First, compare plans of the same kind. A voice-only plan and a data plan are different products, so a lower cost per day does not make one better. Second, a calendar-month plan has no fixed number of days, so its cost per day is only an estimate.
Every plan row on this website shows the cost per day, and you can sort the list by it.
